Many people all over the world have experienced a variety of benefits from ingesting diatomaceous earth. Silica is a mineral that is required for all life on earth, and diatomaceous earth is loaded with it. DE also contains other trace minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, sodium, titanium, boron, manganese, copper, and zirconium. For these minerals, many people add small amounts of diatomaceous earth in a drink or meal.
Recently, people have shown an interest in consuming diatomaceous earth. The only safe way to take diatomaceous earth for humans is to consume food grade diatomaceous earth. All other types of DE are not safe; in fact they're unfit because they have been artificially treated. Here at Eco-Earth, we only sell food grade, which is the only grade safe for human consumption.
Food grade DE contains about 14 trace minerals. "Trace" means up to 1 percent, so each of the trace minerals are present in that amount. This means that food grade diatomaceous earth is largely made up of amorphous silica, which comprises about 85 percent of food grade diatomaceous earth. There is some research that suggests possible health benefits from silica. The health benefits listed below are ones reported by other people who have used DE in their diet.
Grad one our Human consumption grade products. Pour 6 to 8 oz of water or juice in a glass. Then add ½ teaspoon of diatomaceous earth.
Add the diatomaceous earth into your glass and stir. Diatomaceous earth will not dissolve in the liquid but will be suspended and distributed evenly in the liquid until given the time to settle. Drink the liquid right after stirring.
Repeat this process daily before a meal. You can increase the amount of diatomaceous earth you use in the liquid until you reach a level that works for you. We recommend not exceeding 1 tablespoon per day.
If you're interested in taking diatomaceous earth, we recommend you start with a small amount. If you choose to continue using DE, you can increase the amount slowly until you feel comfortable.
